Komeito’s Yamaguchi to cede top post to “younger generation”

At a press conference on September 10, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi, 72, announced that he would not seek reelection for the top post. He cited the swiftly transforming political landscape not only in Japan but across the world, as well as the impressive growth of many of his younger colleagues in his party, among the reasons for his decision.
