On November 6, a Komeito committee on educational and scientific affairs led by House of Representative member Tomoko Ukishima met with officials of the National Teachers Federation of Japan. The two sides exchanged views on the national budget for and policy on education, with federation chair Haruo Maeda calling on the government to upgrade all PCs and tablets currently distributed to schoolchildren with the latest versions without charge. Komeito is seeking to facilitate the digital transformation (DX) of all sectors of Japanese society, including schools and government.
