Yamaguchi calls on President of Vietnam

On August 23, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi paid a courtesy call on President Vo Van Thurong of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Hanoi. In their meeting, Yamaguchi urged President Thurong to visit Japan and that Komeito, as a member of the Japan’s coalition government, would be working to make that visit a reality. The Vietnamese president expressed his desire to do so as well, while adding that it was equally important for more young people to be included in bilateral exchange initiatives moving forward.When their conversation turned to international affairs, Yamaguchi said it was essential to maintain a free and open international order through the rule of law. President Thurong agreed, underscoring the importance of bilateral cooperation in building peace and prosperity in the region.
