Ukraine ambassador meets with representatives of key Japanese parties

On December 14, representatives from the two political parties making up Japan’s coalition government—the Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito—as well as other opposition parties, met with His Excellency Sergiy Korsunsky, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to Japan. Ambassador Korsunsky was on hand to receive a certificate for four diesel-powered electric generators were being donated by the Japan Business Federation, non-profit Japan Foundation and a nonpartisan group of legislators.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida attended the event. Deputy Chief Representative Kazuo Kitagawa represented Komeito. The generators, which will be installed at shelters in Ukraine, are expected to be shipped from Japan as early as December 15.
