Ishii: Steps to ease burden on healthcare workers, promote vaccinations urgent
July 31 , 2021
Meeting with the press on July 30, Komeito Secretary General Keiichi Ishii endorsed the government’s declaration of national emergency to cover an additional four prefectures including Osaka and Kanagawa. Ishii described the decision as “unavoidable” given the coronavirus resurgence as infections have shot past 10,000 cases a day nationwide. He also urged the government to step up its public information and education initiatives, directing more effort in targeting people in their 20s and 30s, many who remain undecided over or resistant to their covid vaccines as misinformation remains rampant over the efficacy and aftereffects of inoculation.Search News
