Yamaguchi backs gov’t concession to ‘black rain’ victims
July 28 , 2021
Speaking with reporters on July 27, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi welcomed Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and his administration’s decision not to contest a court ruling in favor of 84 plaintiffs who filed a class action suit seeking state medical assistance as victims of “black rain,” or radioactive fallout from the Hiroshima atomic bombing. Yamaguchi called for restitution be provided to victims on fair, equitable and readily acceptable basis as quickly as possible. He also urged the government to expand coverage to black-rain victims in Nagasaki as well.Search News
