Yamaguchi issues statement on Olympiad start amid covid resurgence

On July 23, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi issued a statement on the opening of the Olympics. In it, Yamaguchi described the effort to hold the international event despite the pandemic as a “historic challenge” and a message of peace, inspiring people on the importance of the world coming together to recover from and triumph over every difference, divide and peril. He lauded those involved in making it all work and offered his heartfelt support for the athletes who have sacrificed so much to train for and partake in this Olympiad at this most difficult and extraordinary time.Search News
