Komeito held a hearing with three child rights experts on Mar. 16
On March 16, the Women’s Committee of Komeito met with Kaori Suetomi, a professor on educational administration at Nihon University’s College of Humanities and Sciences, Mitsuji Kogawa, who directs the non-profit Usnova, and Machiko Kaida, representative director of C-Rights (Japan International Center for the Rights of the Child). The experts voiced serious concern over mounting cases of child abuse, bullying and suicide, and the need for a sustained comprehensive effort to develop and pass a basic law ensuring the right of all children to a life without violence and freedom to develop as they desire.
