Top ministry officials’ conduct “clearly” unethical

On February 24, Komeito Policy Research chair Yuzuru Takeuchi blasted senior Ministry of Public Management, Home Affairs, Posts and Telecommunications embroiled in a major scandal for “clearly violating the National Public Service Ethics Code.” The party’s policy czar told reporters that the conduct of those officials—who were named by a tabloid magazine for being lavishly entertained by satellite broadcasting service Tohokushinsha Film Corp., which falls under the ministry’s administrative purview—was inexcusable.
