Komeito officials welcome incoming South Korean ambassador

Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi and other senior Komeito officials met with His Excellency Kang Chang-il, the new Ambassador to Japan of the Republic of Korea, on February 18. At the meeting, Ambassador Kang asked for Komeito’s cooperation in improving bilateral relations, which have been strained for some time now, emphasizing the importance of persistent dialogue. Yamaguchi welcomed the South Korean envoy and expressed his resolve to bettering ties going forward. Ambassador Kang chaired the nonpartisan league of South Korean legislators promoting relations with Japan and is viewed as an expert on Japan-related issues.Search News
