Cracking down harder on stalkers
February 17 , 2021
In a meeting held on February 16, Komeito approved of a new bill to expand the legal definition of stalking to include stalkers who use GPS devices to track their victims. While the existing law prohibits stalkers from not only visiting the home, workplace or schools of victims, the bill will also ban them from places such as stores that a victim may frequent. The party is pushing for the expeditious passage of the bill, which came about after Komeito met with experts on the issue and examined further steps to protect stalking victims.Search News
