Komeito calls for expanded coverage of worker support subsidy
February 6 , 2021
At a House of Representatives budget hearing held on February 4, Komeito’s Hisashi Inatsu called on Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and his administration to expand coverage of a special government program to subsidize workers whose hours have been reduced at companies hurt by the pandemic. While the program includes subsidies for part-time workers and other non-regular employees, Inatsu said awareness of the program’s eligibility requirements remains low and requires the use of social media and other informational tools for workers to take full advantage. He also urged the government to promptly extend program coverage to temporary hires working for large companies as well.Search News
