Yamaguchi expresses apology for Toyama incident
January 29 , 2021
On January 28, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi expressed his “profound contrition” to the public over Kiyohiko Toyama, a member of the party’s House of Representatives caucus. Toyama admitted to having dined with an associate after the 8 p.m. curfew established under the declaration of national emergency. Yamaguchi berated Toyama for his appalling lack of judgment and failure to act as a responsible member of Komeito. The party leader said that Toyama has expressed deep remorse for his transgression and is fully repentant for the incident, adding that Toyama would have to prove his sincerity through his behavior in the coming days and weeks.Search News
