Hirai: Digital agency bill incorporates Komeito proposal ‘in its entirety’

On January 14, Michiyo Takagi, head of a Komeito task force on digitalization, led a meeting of party legislators from both houses of the Diet to discuss policy initiatives to facilitate a fully digitized society. Takuya Hirai, minister of the proposed digital agency, attended the meeting. Hirai told the lawmakers that Komeito’s proposal on the matter submitted in November 2020 was incorporated “in its entirety” into the government’s bill to form said agency.
