Takeuchi calls for carbon neutral programs in supplemental budget

On November 4, Komeito Policy Research Council chair Yuzuru Takeuchi told reporters that his party was calling for the inclusion of financial assistance to people living in economic distress and environmental protection initiatives in the third supplemental budget for fiscal 2020. As to the latter, Takeuchi said that the government, as it strives to achieve a carbon neutral society, needs to provide tax incentives in order to stimulate private sector investment in innovative environmental technologies.
