Five new senior officials of Suga Cabinet from Komeito

On September 18, the newly formed Cabinet led by Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga appointed 25 new vice ministers and 27 parliamentary secretaries. From Komeito, the following two senior vice ministers were chosen:• Senior Vice Minister of Finance—Wataru Itoh, 50, former Komeito acting deputy secretary general
• Senior Vice Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare—Hiroshi Yamamoto, 65, former parliamentary secretary of finance
In addition, three were selected parliamentary secretaries:
• Parliamentary Secretary of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology—Yoko Wanibuchi, 48, deputy chair of the Komeito Women’s Committee
• Parliamentary Secretary of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries—Seishi Kumano, 55, former radiologist
• Parliamentary Secretary of the Environment—Masaru Miyazaki, 62, former Komei Shimbun newspaper managing editor
