On August 5, Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi led a Komeito delegation to pay respects to the Korean victims of the atomic bombing of Hiroshima. Kim Sun-pyo, Consul General of the Republic of Korea Consulate General in Hiroshima, accompanied the delegates to the monument, which was erected in 1970 and relocated to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park in 1999, to honor the 2,778 decedents (including 13 who passed away over the past year) of the bombing.
