Yamaguchi, PM Abe discuss supplemental budget use
May 17 , 2020
On May 15, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi spoke with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe by phone, during which the former called on the government to prioritize two programs as part of its economic stimulus package to combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Yamaguchi first cited the need to grant a prompt one-time payout of 100,000 yen to university students in serious financial difficulty, to be funded under the supplemental budget’s first round of appropriations. Yamaguchi also recommended that rental relief for commercial tenants be extended under the same budget to prop up smaller businesses and individual operators.Search News
