Saito: Provide lodging for mild symptom infects

Komeito Secretary General Tetsuo Saito spoke with reporters on April 24 to explain his party’s position on several Covid-19 response initiatives, including the need to secure hotels and other lodging facilities for patients suffering from mild viral symptoms. He pointed to cases in which such patients who were directed to recover at home who either died due to a sudden worsening of their condition or have infected other family members. To avoid these outcomes, Saito called on the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare to provide mild-symptom patients with public accommodations equipped with medical monitoring units and trained staff.
