Yamaguchi to PM Abe: Pay out 100,000 yen for every citizen
April 16 , 2020
Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe on April 15, urging the latter to adopt a program that will pay out 100,000 yen to every citizen regardless of income as part of the Abe administration’s emergency economic stimulus package. Komeito believes that the program would help people who have been hurt hardest by the COVID-19 outbreak much faster than the government’s previously proposed idea of paying out 300,000 yen to households. “We need to communicate to the public the government’s commitment to adopt every possible response [to the disease] with even greater speed,” Yamaguchi told reporters.Search News
