Japan needs to support global effort to develop virus vaccine

A group of Liberal Democratic Party and Komeito representatives submitted a proposal to Health, Labor and Welfare Minister Katsunobu Kato on April 8, asking the Japanese government to coordinate closely with countries worldwide in the race to develop a vaccine against the COVID-19 virus. While endorsing the fast-tracking of vaccine development efforts in Japan, the two coalition government parties proposed that Japan help fund the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations, a global alliance to combat emerging infectious diseases, and support other multinational initiatives.Search News
