Yamaguchi: Cash payout needed pronto

Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi spoke at the party’s Central Secretariat on March 26, saying Komeito will be proposing an economic stimulus package to the government in which “those who are hit hardest” by the Covid-19 outbreak will be receiving the most assistance.

Yamaguchi explained Komeito’s proposal would center on supporting people that have experienced significant decreases in income or were laid off, providing them essential living expenses as quickly as possible. He called on the government to direct state agencies and private financial institutions to provide firms and freelancers with financing at lower interest rates and ease collateral requirements.
