Yamaguchi: push back tax filing period even further

On February 27, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi called on the National Tax Authority (NTA) to extend the period to file tax returns. The NTA has already pushed the deadline from March 16 to April 16 due to the novel coronavirus outbreak. But because the nationwide network of tax filing centers are invariably congested with taxpayers during that period, Yamaguchi is calling for an even longer extension to prevent the virus from spreading.Search News
