On February 13, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi spoke at his party’s Central Secretariat, where he thanked a hotel and local community for hosting the Japanese returning from Wuhan, the city in China where the novel coronavirus outbreak is believed to have started. “Without the hotel willing to provide its services and local residents offering their cooperation, we could not have secured this outcome,” he said. “[To them,] I express my heartfelt gratitude and admiration.”
