Komeito: National and local governments must work closely against virus outbreak
January 31 , 2020
At a House of Councilor budget committee hearing held on January 30, Komeito legislator Kanae Yamamoto pointed out that when a Nara prefecture man was confirmed to have the novel coronavirus, that fact was never communicated to the proper authorities in the local community in which he lived. The delay, Yamamoto noted, caused considerable panic, while many other local governments were completely in the dark as to the correct protocols to implement, including whether to permit major public events. She urged the government to step up its effort to provide information to prefectural and municipal governments promptly and ensure that it is being shared and utilized to protect citizens nationwide.Search News
