Natsuo Yamaguchi, chief representative of Komeito, spoke at his party’s Central Secretariat in Tokyo on January 22, addressing growing domestic concerns over the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in Wuhan, China. Yamaguchi urged the Japanese government to step up waterfront measures at airports and other entry points to prevent the viral spread from taking hold here in Japan, saying that close consultations with the Chinese government was vital.
