On December 14, Komeito Chief Representative Natsuo Yamaguchi paid a courtesy call on Chinese Ambassador to Japan Cheng Yonghua to report on Yamaguchi’s visit to the People’s Republic of China on November 30 to December 3.

Yamaguchi was in Beijing to attend a meeting of representatives from some 300 political parties in more than 120 countries that was hosted by the Chinese Communist Party, at which he took part in a group discussion led by Wang Hunin, a member of China’s powerful Politburo Standing Committee.

In Tokyo, Ambassador Cheng told Yamaguchi: “Every time you travel to China, the bonds of trust between China and Japan grow that much stronger. Komeito’s stand on China-Japan friendship has consistently remained steadfast, which has earned China’s faith [in the Japanese party]. I ask that Komeito continue to play an important role” in strengthening bilateral relations.
