Secretary-generals of LDP and Komeito to visit China

December 7 , 2017

Yoshihisa Inoue, secretary-general of Komeito, and his Liberal Democratic Party counterpart, Toshihiro Nikai, will be visiting the People’s Republic of China from December 24 to the 29th. The two are expected to meet the top officials of the Chinese Communist Party during their five-day stay.

The ruling parties of the Japanese government have engaged their Chinese party counterparts since 2006. Although this initiative was halted when the then-Democratic Party of Japan assumed power in 2009, it was resumed in 2015 under the LDP-Komeito coalition government.
