One minister and two vice ministers appointed from Komeito

On Wednesday, October 7, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe reshuffled the Cabinet for the second time. Abe retained nine Cabinet members and appointed 10 new members. Keiichi Ishii of Komeito was appointed Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, his first ministerial portfolio.

On Friday, October 9, 35 vice ministers were appointed including two from Komeito. Kaneshige Wakamatsu (House of Councilors) was appointed Vice Minister of Reconstruction in charge of recovery from the nuclear accident at Fukushima. Yuzuru Takeuchi (House of Representatives) was appointed Vice Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare.
